Honeywell has acquired IRIS Systems, Inc. IRIS is a producer of flame monitoring systems for industrial process applications and provides unique flame detection products which are used in petro-chemical, power generation, pulp and paper, industrial boilers, and other industrial combustion applications. AWC, Inc. will support the new territory throughout LA, MS, AL, and FL with sales offices and inventory throughout Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles, New Orleans, Mobile, Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando, and Fort Lauderdale.

We are pleased to announce that on September 1, 2010 AWC purchased the assets and took on the product lines of Tampa, FL based Alpha Valve & Controls (www.alpha-controls.com). Alpha will become part of AWC’s Florida Division. AWC also hired Alpha’s five sales and customer service employees.

Alpha was formed in 1995 and sells instrumentation and control equipment primarily to the municipal water and waste water market. Alpha’s largest customers include Miami-Dade County, City of Ft. Lauderdale, City of Tampa and City of West Palm Beach. Top product lines include ABB Instrumentation (authorization for the FL municipal market), Primary Flow Signal, Cerlic, Mission Communications and Pulsar.

AWC and Alpha are a great fit! The combined company will be significantly better positioned to assist customers in the water and waste water markets due to an expanded product line, additional sales, service, technical support staff, and local inventory. AWC Inc. has acquired the personnel and assets of the Power and Controls Automation (PCA) and Valve and Controls (V&C) divisions of Power and Pumps, Inc. (P&P), a company headquartered in Jacksonville, FL.   Forty (40) new employee owners will be added to the AWC family as a result of this transaction.

Some of you may recognize PCA as one of the largest Siemens Automation distributors in the country covering Georgia and Florida and V&C as a long time Honeywell distributor in Florida.   The new personnel / product lines will become part of the AWC-Southeast division and goes far in achieving our long term goal of being the predominant automation, instrumentation, and controls supplier in the Southeastern United States.
