Honeywell: How to remotely diagnose SmartLine Transmitters

This video, presented by Tom Brans and David Galvan of Honeywell Process Solutions, demonstrates how to remotely access the diagnostics of a SmartLine transmitter via Field Device Manager (FDM).  Due to the smart technology of the SmartLine product platform (including a built-in microprocessor, diagnostic capabilities, two-way communication, and multivariable capabilities) and ease of integration of SmartLine products into Experion PKS, the device status and diagnostics of the SmartLine transmitter are quickly and easily accessible via the Field Device Manager (FDM)  tool.  Additionally, the diagnostics can be performed if the modular local display is removed.  This allows technicians to safely troubleshoot field instrumentation without having to go into the field under potentially hazardous conditions.
