Honeywell: Why implement SmartLine Wireless Temperature Transmitters?

Honeywell’s SmartLine Wireless Temperature Transmitter offers exceptional accuracy in temperature measurements. The temperature transmitters support a variety of input options to address different user needs and can be used with measurement devices that have hazard location approval to make a wireless measurement while retaining the Intrinsic Safety rating.

The SmartLine Wireless Temperature Transmitter offers a combination of thermocouple, RTD and discrete inputs capability.

What is it?

With SmartLine Wireless there are two different transmitter types that can support temperature measurements.

The SmartLine Wireless Temperature Transmitter supports up to four temperature thermocouple, milli-volt, ohm inputs, and/or discrete inputs, or two RTD inputs.

The SmartLine Wireless Universal I/O Transmitters offer similar capability to the Wireless Temperature Transmitter is an alternative choice if RTD inputs are not required.

How does it work?

SmartLine Wireless Temperature Transmitter measures the analog signal from temperature sensors, discrete inputs, milli-volt values or ohm values and transmit a digital output signal proportional to the measured value for direct digital communications with systems. The discrete input channels support voltage-free floating contacts.

The output signal can be transmitted to another transmitter, field router, or access point which then ultimately transmits the message to a gateway. These nodes wirelessly intercommunicate, forming a managed, secure and redundant network.

The SmartLine Wireless Temperature Transmitter is fully compliant to the international ISA100 wireless standard.

What problems does it solve?

Honeywell’s wireless transmitters enable provide a low cost, easy install and secure solution to bring wireless data into the process control or SCADA monitoring system.  Wireless solutions provide a method to provide measurements where traditional instrumentation was not possible due to physical or financial constraints.  Honeywell wireless products provide an industry-recognized security offering and an ease of mind that your wireless investment will continue to viable in the future.
